Its not rocket science – honest

September With it being just over 2 months since I announced my intention to do IM Copenhagen I thought it best to at least update my build up over Autumn to where I am today. Firstly, the main news for me, after being with Simon Ward for nearly 2 years and ending at Kona in 2012 I took a break to spend time with family and work pretty much every hour possible in between, not training for an ironman allows that type of freedom with weekends and spare time. So 2013 has been the year off as I did in 2010 with Teya and its definitely worth it. Trying to come back in September was harder than I...

Getting your head around the fact that you are going to wake up to this for the next 2 months will make it easier to train, I find it so much easier to get everything ready the night before, no excuses when you are tired if your bag is packed and ready for the pool. Just keep telling yourself, the athletes that you are trying to compete against are probably already up and you just lost an hour, see how that plays with your mind 🙂 It doesn’t help...

March Maintenance

I come to you a slightly disappointed bunny, the month of March has not been the most consistent, illness and a rather full on effort at a stag do meant my month was somewhat interupted.

My hours for February stacked up at a reasonably consistant 47 hours, for me, an average of 12 a week is about right, I tend to do the right stuff and not pad out with volume, something I will hope to do over April with the better weather but this is good early volume. March took a hit, I was ill for a week and a half and this knocked 10 hours off the previous month and took me a good week...
